The Castle has witnessed countries and fierce wars since its founding in the hijri fourth century in 1000 years، and perhaps the only reason why it remains in a remarkable steadfast to this day is its unique position in the middle of the island of Tarut amid a forest of palms and on a rocky elevation back to 9000 years BC، and some historians suggest that the castle was built on the ruins of a Phoenician temple، and the archaeological ruins on the hill date back to 5000 years BC، which is today the highest elevation in the Qatif areas. The castle was built mostly from of local stones with six facets and the walls of the castle were iron bars، which made it coherent and standing in all majesty.
